About Kate
Kate Wood has been living, creating, working, and playing on Gabriola since 1999. Nova is the culmination of over three decades of art and craft practice and education. Along her journey, Kate has initiated multiple entrepreneurial efforts in the form of art and craft pop-ups and markets, as well as running a mini-shop in a converted bus during the pandemic. Long-time Gabriolans may remember her from her 15 years as a retail clerk selling art and craft in the same space when it was known as Artworks.

We envision Nova as a dynamic collaborative retail and workspace/studio that will thrive long-term in this spectacular venue, establishing itself as the hub for arts and culture in an authentically Gabriola way.
